IOT Product Manager

As a Product Manager within the AO Digital Team, you will define, implement, and manage products from conception to final delivery throughout the product lifecycle. You will be responsible for understanding customer needs, addressing pain points, and ensuring that our IoT solutions meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. This role will involve leading a team of professionals and contractors, driving product development, and enhancing our existing IoT platform to deliver optimal results.

• Manage the full product lifecycle for IoT Platform and features, ensuring alignment with customer needs and financial objectives.
• Act as the owner and champion for IoT products, prioritising product requirements and maintaining the product backlog.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback, translating customer needs into actionable product propositions.
• Coordinate product trials and launches, providing support for communications and training.
• Develop financial plans and forecasts, monitoring expenditure and ensuring effective use of resources.
• Lead a team of product owners and managers, fostering a collaborative environment and driving performance.
• Implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions and improvements within the team and product offerings.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the IoT space, particularly in utilities.

• Proven experience as a product specialist, particularly in the IoT domain.
• Technical expertise in IoT technologies and a background in condition monitoring.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Experience in stakeholder management and relationship building.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and product development processes.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for driving innovation in IoT solutions.
• 8–12 years of experience in product management, with 4+ years in IoT or connected products.
• Strong understanding of IoT architecture: devices, firmware, connectivity, cloud, data pipelines, and applications.
• Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies and working with distributed engineering teams.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business and customer value propositions.

• Familiarity with:
• Cloud platforms (Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, GCP IoT)
• Data & analytics, dashboards, and APIs
• Edge computing and OTA updates
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles for IoT.
