Job Description

As a Property Desk Adjuster, you will investigate and evaluate homeowners property claims from start to finish. You will confirm the facts of loss, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements within your assigned authority. In this role, you will manage the entire claim lifecycle, including supplements, Additional Living Expense (ALE) claims, contents, and personal property losses. You will work closely with customers, contractors, and other partners to ensure claims are handled accurately and efficiently.

A key part of this position is delivering excellent customer service through clear, timely communication, keeping customers informed and supported throughout the claims process.

We are seeking an experienced Property Adjuster located in either the Central or Eastern time zone. With proficiency in Xactimate and a strong foundation in claims handling, including supplements, ALE, contents and full claim ownership. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, excellent customer service, and the ability to adapt in a fastpaced environment. Experience handling claims in both field and desk settings is strongly preferred.

Holds an active adjuster license or possess a license that qualifies for reciprocity in the applicable states is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Applies increased experience in the Adjuster II level or a rotation into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Litigation, Large Loss, Water Mitigation, Desk Review)
  • For claims involving fraud or subrogation, partners with assigned reps from those areas to achieve best outcome
  • Recognizes and identifies key components of residential construction and repair, including structural integrity and home systems
  • Identifies complex customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
  • Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
  • Handles investigation regarding all aspects of complex Homeowners first party claims (coverage, damages and subrogation) with the exercise of discretion and independence within increased level of authority

Sign On Bonus:

You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign on Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses needed for this role. This could include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designation

People who have previously worked for Allstate, including its family of companies, are not eligible for this sign-on bonus.

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is:

Inside Property Cons II: $56,000./salary

Inside Property Sr. Cons I: $68,500./salary

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role may include additional components, such as incentive pay (for example, commission or bonus), if applicable.

As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
