Material Handler / Warehouse Associate

This role focuses on receiving, moving, and organizing materials to support a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. You ensure that raw materials and finished goods flow efficiently through the facility, maintain accurate inventory records, and operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. The position plays a key part in supporting production lines, shipping and receiving operations, and overall inventory control.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Transport raw materials and components to designated production areas in a timely and safe manner.
  • Stage materials according to production schedules so that manufacturing lines have the correct items when needed.
  • Move finished goods from production areas to appropriate storage and shipping locations.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking material movement and updating inventory systems.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory processes to support inventory accuracy.
  • Label, organize, and store materials in proper locations to maintain an orderly warehouse and production environment.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory to prevent damage and support quality standards.
  • Conduct order picking and packing activities as needed to fulfill internal and external requirements.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and production orders when handling materials and supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, keeping materials and equipment properly arranged.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including the use of required PPE such as safety glasses.
  • Work closely with production teams to support manufacturing lines and overall production goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a team-based setting, contributing to cell build groups or individual stations as needed.
  • Use basic computer systems and, where applicable, ERP or inventory software to track inventory and material movement.
  • Apply strong attention to detail and perform quality checks related to materials and documentation.
  • Work independently when required while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting, including material handling and inventory activities.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and effectively.
  • Forklift experience with sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Inventory experience, including cycle counts, tracking, and material movement.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Basic math skills to support counting, verification, and inventory control.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills when handling materials and documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and move materials throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate with diverse colleagues.
  • Strong business and industry awareness related to manufacturing, warehouse operations, and order picking.

Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Current forklift certification is highly desirable.
  • Shipping and receiving experience, including loading, unloading, and documentation support.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing production lines and understanding production flow.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory software systems for tracking materials and inventory.
  • Experience with picking and packing processes in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working with small to medium-sized components using hand tools in a production setting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and noise levels within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, Inventory Control Associate, Forklift Operator, or Manufacturing Support Associate.
