CoreResponsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission and throughout the course of care, documenting findings accurately within the electronic health record system
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate individualized nursing care plans tailored to each patient's unique medical needs and personal circumstances
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely, monitoring patients carefully for therapeutic responses and potential adverse reactions
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive, patient-centered care
- Educate patients and their family members regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and strategies for managing health conditions at home
- Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions and escalating concerns when necessary
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all nursing assessments, interventions, patient responses, and communications
- Delegate appropriate tasks to certified nursing assistants and patient care technicians while maintaining full accountability for overall patient care quality
- Participate actively in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities
- Ensure strict compliance with all infection control protocols, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Rhode Island or eligibility for licensure through endorsement
- Minimum of one year recent Medical‑Surgical nursing experience in an acute inpatient hospital setting
- Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and genuine commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care delivery
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard clinical technology platforms
- Availability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
