Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - 1:1 Care
Job Summary: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing 1:1 care, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalized nursing care to a student or students in the educational settings. You will work directly under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) to ensure the student health and safety needs are met with precision and compassion.
Responsibilities- Student Care:
Provide direct student care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities. - Student Care:
Perform routine clinical tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and changing dressings. - Student Care:
Assist with feeding and mobility as needed, ensuring the student’s comfort and dignity. - Student Care:
Observe and report any changes in the student's condition or behavior to the supervising RN or physician. - Medication Administration:
Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the healthcare provider. - Medication Administration:
Monitor for medication side effects and adverse reactions. - Communication & Reporting:
Maintain clear and accurate patient records, documenting care provided, changes in condition, and any issues encountered. - Communication & Reporting:
Communicate effectively with the supervising RN and school team, providing updates on the student’s status and care plan, as necessary. - Patient Safety:
Follow all safety protocols to ensure the student physical and emotional well-being. - Patient Safety:
Ensure that the environment is clean and safe when preparing sterile medications and procedures. - Collaboration:
Work closely with the student family, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and follow a care plan tailored to the student needs.
- Education & Experience: Current LPN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Experience in 1:1 student care preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills and compassion for student(s).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures, terminology, and nursing practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, or transfer students as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
