Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a valuable member of the healthcare team who provides essential nursing care and support to patients under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. LPNs play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing various clinical and administrative. Their primary focus is to ensure the well‑being and comfort of patients while maintaining accurate records and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.

• Assist in performing patient assessments, including measuring vital signs, collecting patient history, and documenting observations.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) of patient information, interventions, and outcomes.
• Communicate patient status and changes to the registered nurse or physician.
• Administer oral, topical, and injectable medications as ordered by healthcare providers.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns promptly.
• Work closely with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Communicate effectively within the healthcare team to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and mobility.
• Monitor patient safety and intervene to prevent falls, injuries, or other hazards.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• More than six months job‑related experience or equivalent is required.
• RI licensure required.
