Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a valuable member of the healthcare team who provides essential nursing care and support to patients under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. LPNs play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing various clinical and administrative. Their primary focus is to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients while maintaining accurate records and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist in performing patient assessments, including measuring vital signs, collecting patient history, and documenting observations.
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) of patient information, interventions, and outcomes.
* Communicate patient status and changes to the registered nurse or physician.
* Administer oral, topical, and injectable medications as ordered by healthcare providers.
* Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns promptly.
* Work closely with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
* Communicate effectively within the healthcare team to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient needs.
* Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and mobility.
* Monitor patient safety and intervene to prevent falls, injuries, or other hazards.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
More than six months job-related experience or equivalent is required
RI licensure required
