Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care and health support to students during the school day. The LPN will work under the supervision of a licensed School Nurse or Registered Nurse. The goal is to promote student health, safety, and academic success by managing daily medical needs. This will be done in accordance with physician orders, individual health care plans, and district and state regulations.

The LPN will provide direct nursing care to students based on established care plans and medical orders. Medications and treatments will be administered as delegated and authorized, with accurate documentation ensured. Support will be provided to students with chronic health conditions, disabilities, and complex medical needs. The LPN will monitor, assess, and document students' health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to the School Nurse.

Assistance will also be given in the development, implementation, and monitoring of individual health care plans and emergency action plans. Accurate and confidential student health records will be maintained in compliance with applicable regulations. In case of health emergencies, the LPN will respond appropriately and follow emergency procedures. Infection control practices will be supported, ensuring a clean and safe health office environment.

Collaboration with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families is essential. The LPN will assist with student needs during school activities, transportation, field trips, or arrival/dismissal when required. Additional duties may be assigned consistent with licensure and district needs. Candidates should have the ability to work effectively with children and adolescents of varying needs. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills are required.

Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries is a must. Candidates should possess the physical ability to perform nursing duties, including lifting and assisting students as needed.
