As an Emergency Veterinarian, you are passionate about helping people and their pets, especially when they need you most. You’ll handle a wide range of emergencies, including routine cases and complex surgeries, and treat every kind of pet, including exotics.

• Answer medical questions over the phone
• See patients immediately as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes, our client-centered approach to care
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and physical exam findings
• Conduct physical examinations and other diagnostic measures such as ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
• Provide a diagnosis and create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan
• Communicate diagnosis and treatment options to customers
• Prepare estimates and present them to customers
• Create and review medical records for accuracy
• Explain the value of tests and treatments to customers and address concerns
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries
• Perform endoscopic procedures
• Educate customers on aftercare and preventive measures where appropriate

• A DVM or equivalent degree
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy
• Thrives in team-oriented environments
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, kneel and work on the floor; lift up to 25 kg, with assistance for up to 40 kg
• Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
• Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

• Competitive compensation with base salary and production, earning potential totaling through a range (example: base $140k–$185k with production; total earnings averaging $300k annually) plus 401K match
