Job Description:

Position

Purpose:

The Project Manager will coordinate day-to-day implementation of clinical research in the area of addictive behaviors and the corresponding NIH grant-funded research protocols. They will manage research staff and data collection activities across multiple sites to ensure the quality and integrity of research data. The Project Manager works closely with the PI to ensure the success of the research across all phases, including study design, data collection, data management, and reporting/disseminating findings.

Responsibilities include oversight and training of Senior Research Assistants, Research Assistants, Graduate Research Assistants, and students; report preparation; assistance with grant applications and completion of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and reporting; designing and implementing data collection protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and procedures, managing NIH Data Sharing Archive structure and reports, monitoring research team performance; and training/assisting with research activities of doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, when required.

The Project Manager arranges investigator and program advisory committee meetings, helps create meeting agendas, and takes meeting minutes. Additionally, the Project Manager will oversee research staff time and tasks to ensure that project goals are met in a timely and efficient manner. The Project Manager also oversees maintenance and updating of the lab website, social media, and communications about project accomplishments.

The Project Manager position manages/directs the day-to-day operations of research studies including managing communications, data, and overseeing workflow.

This position is onsite.

This is a fixed term position with a current end date of June 1, 2027 , which may be extended based upon available funding.

Job Qualifications and Competencies

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Master’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Competencies Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines independently

Ability to independently identify priorities, anticipate needs, and execute tasks without prompting

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including regulatory and scientific writing

Experience training and supervising research staff

Experience with IRB submissions and federal research compliance

Experience using statistical analysis software (e.g., Stata, R) and database software (e.g., Filemaker) preferred

Experience contributing to scientific manuscript preparation and journal/conference submission processes preferred
