Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Store - PROV-WARWICK, RI. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they’re looking for, provide fast and friendly checkout, and complete operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards.
EventCoordination
- Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
- Engage clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
- Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects, face painting, and other activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add‑ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
- Communicate events with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork.
- Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
- Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
- Provide fast and friendly checkout experience.
- Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
- Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Assist with omni‑channel processes, including BOPIS and SFS.
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes.
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
- Perform SISO and AD set duties as assigned.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to SOPs and company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
- Interact positively and respectfully with all, promoting the organization’s vision and values.
- Cross‑trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom maintenance).
Other duties as assigned.

- Excellent people skills.
- Experience working with children and children’s events.
- Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication and listening skills.
- Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills.
- Retail and/or customer service experience required.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
- Contact supervisor for reasonable accommodations if needed.
- Public retail store; climate‑controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate‑controlled; occasional outdoor work.
- Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.
- Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.

Total Base Pay Range for this Position: $16.00 - $18.80
