JobOverview
As a Merchandising Colleague, also known as a Front of House Colleague, you will develop expertise in Macy’s merchandise and services to create exceptional experiences for every customer. Your responsibilities include assisting with floor relocations, enhancing visual presentation, arranging and maintaining product displays, and ensuring up‑to‑date pricing and signage.
We’re looking for flexible team players who thrive in a fast‑paced environment, can switch between multiple tasks, and can work various shifts—including nights, weekends, and holidays. Full‑time colleagues are typically scheduled for 30 or more hours per week, while part‑time colleagues receive 12‑24 hours per week. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability.

- Recommend products by asking questions to identify customer needs and inspire purchases.
- Offer options and solutions to customers to complete the sale.
- Wrap‑up the customer’s shopping journey, celebrating their purchases and sharing in their excitement.
- Master store products, services, loyalty programs, and Macy’s sales systems; use this knowledge to help customers find what they need and suggest additional items.
- Maintain department recovery standards, including selling floor and fitting rooms.
- Ensure accurate pricing and signage throughout the store by regularly using technology to update product prices, promotions, and information in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
- Work with other team members to achieve department goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
Product Knowledge: Good understanding of the products you are selling and the ability to give expert guidance based on customer wants, features, and choices.
Sales: Ability to build relationships, achieve sales goals, and participate in pre‑selling and sales‑boosting events.
Technology: Utilize point‑of‑sale technology and applications to help sell and fulfill customer orders.
Continuous Learning: Self‑driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends, and stay current with all training through Macy’s educational resources.
