Position: Assistant Department Manager Key Carrier (Deco)

Purpose

This position is responsible for training and developing Product Sales Specialists and ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience through exceptional service and product information. It also supports opening and closing the store and performs select managerial duties as necessary.

Pay Range

$18.59 - $27.41

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential functions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in a fast‑paced environment, adapting to change with a sense of urgency
Essential Functions
  • Act in a manner consistent with company core values
  • Open and close the store effectively
  • Understand and comply with security alarm and opening/closing procedures
  • Perform managerial responsibilities such as storage buy audits, markdown approvals, overrides, and cash office functions
  • Maintain store presentation standards
  • Complete opening safety walk and lift equipment inspections prior to opening
  • Lead morning huddles, execute Power Hours, and serve as a CARE Manager
  • Ensure safety and security of customers and employees following loss prevention guidelines
  • Report Workers Compensation and General Liability claims accurately
  • Follow safe lifting practices
  • Direct product sales specialists to provide attentive and accurate customer service
  • Complete all product specialist certification courses
  • Understand merchandise and installation details
  • Manage merchandising, pricing, and organization of the department
  • Communicate SOP changes to all associates in a timely manner
  • Complete Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
  • Communicate inventory needs to management
  • Assist shipment processing to showroom floor
  • Validate product placement and pricing within the department
  • Greet every customer courteously
  • Assist customers with product questions and selections
  • Process check‑out using the POS system
  • Process refunds and exchanges per guidelines
  • Present ‘how‑to’ classes to customers
  • Follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
  • Answer telephone according to guidelines
  • Stock and tag merchandise displays as required
  • Create price tags and merchandise signs
Working Conditions

The employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. Noise levels are typically moderate to noisy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and/or >20 pounds constantly while lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects. Requires use of hands and fingers, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Store Hours

Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–8:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM

Pickup Hours

Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
