Interior Designer

Job Summary

An innovative leader responsible for the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program and personalized client solutions, translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting in‑home consultations, and fortifying sales teams with design expertise.

• Training Pay: $20 – $23 per hour (no commission) for 2‑6 weeks
• Potential annual earnings after training: $60,000 – $110,000+ (inclusive of base, bonus, and commission)

• Promote the In‑Home Design program and present customized portfolio presentations that meet or exceed store and individual sales goals.
• Achieve annual operating benchmarks and personal objectives.
• Schedule and conduct in‑home consultations to understand client needs, preferences, and vision.
• Partner with Store and Sales Managers to deliver coaching, training, and support that enhances design culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and overall performance.
• Create design concepts and digital presentations, translating client lifestyle, taste, and budget into actionable recommendations.
• Ensure proper execution of existing and new systems and administrative procedures, and support store management with meetings and special projects.
• Maintain brand visual standards in the store, ensuring cleanliness in employee and customer areas.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2–3 years in sales or interior design with a residential emphasis.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, computer‑aided design programs, financial acumen, interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service.
• Ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Design certification.
• Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit, and experience building effective relationships.

• Lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Operate a motor vehicle.
• Stand for long periods, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Ability to pass background and drug screen.
