Job Overview
BD’s Advanced Repair and Reconstruction division provides solutions in soft tissue reconstruction, including products for hernia repair, specialized surgical procedures, fixation and biologic implants. The role involves representing BD in a specific geographical area assigned by the company – Boise, , North & Western Montana. Responsibilities include attaining sales goals, growing sales of current accounts, establishing new accounts, and acting as a product specialist.
Responsibilities- Attain territorial sales and profitability goals.
- Grow sales of current accounts and establish new accounts.
- Present, educate, and provide in‑services to surgeons, OR staff, and other individuals on proper product usage.
- Provide on‑site technical support during procedures to ensure accurate product usage.
- Train and educate physicians and hospital staff on product usage.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of company products, distribution channels, and methods of distribution.
- Develop new prospects and establish customer relationships.
- Advise customers on new and current products, backorders, order status, pricing structure, company policy changes, and forecasts for additional needs.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and maintain commitments and appointments.
- Attend customers’ meetings and trade shows, and give detailed post‑convention reports.
- Establish products as standard for bid accounts through surgeon specifications.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience; medical sales experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Detailed understanding of needs/analysis approach to sales.
- Understanding of product buyer concepts, contract administration, and group purchasing principles.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with at least 3 years of consecutive driving history and meeting BD’s auto safety standards.
- Criminal background satisfactory to the company; may be monitored annually or as needed.
- Ability to meet customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings with satisfactory results.
- Travel at least 60%, including overnight travel.
- Local candidate only – must be based in Boise, near downtown Boise; no relocation.
