Position: Academic Sales Associate (New Grad Opportunity)

Reporting to the Academic Sales Manager, the Academic Sales Associate is an entry-level opportunity designed for recent graduates looking to build a career in business-to-business sales within the higher education sector. This role combines inside sales, account support, and administrative coordination to drive revenue growth and deliver a strong customer experience across the Northeast region, including Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and interested in developing both client-facing and operational sales skills in a collaborative environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of a regional sales plan focused on higher education institutions across the Northeast
  • Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities through outbound outreach, lead follow-up, and prospect research
  • Support inside sales activities including responding to inbound inquiries, qualifying leads, and scheduling meetings
  • Participate in sales presentations and product demonstrations, showcasing Danby’s Micro Fridge combination unit and broader product offering
  • Maintain and grow existing academic customer relationships through regular communication and follow-up
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and sales materials, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to customers and distributors
  • Provide administrative support to the sales process including order coordination, tracking pipelines, and updating CRM systems
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and opportunities in CRM tools
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to support business objectives
  • Assist with training customers and partners on product features and applications for academic use
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support sales strategy development
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as needed
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Education, or a related field
  • Recent graduate or up to three years of experience in sales, customer service, internships, or administrative support roles
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in sales, account management, or business development

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM experience (Net Suite an asset)
  • Exposure to post-secondary environments considered an asset
