Position Description
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Warwick, Rhode Island. This role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career in which you can feel good about your work.
Compensation & Schedule- Hourly pay: $33.94 per hour
- Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Tool box/tool allowance
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday (weekends off) - Hours:
First shift 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Carry out preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root causes of basic failures and perform necessary repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Use shop management systems and electronic documentation as required
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as necessary to support operations, including, but not limited to, service island support
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- At least two years of a combination of classroom training and work experience in the required areas
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Ability to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/Motor Vehicle check with drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
