8th Grade 9th Grade School Social Worker - Warwick, RI

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Social Worker specializing in middle and early high school grades, serving students from 5th through 9th grade. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students in grades 5 through 9, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement support plans tailored to student needs
• Conduct assessments and develop intervention strategies to promote positive student outcomes
• Facilitate referrals to community resources and mental health services when appropriate
• Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution efforts within the school environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports in compliance with school policies and confidentiality guidelines

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Degree in Social Work (Bachelor's or Master's preferred) with current licensure or certification as required by state regulations
• Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting, preferably with grades 5 through 9
• Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and school-based social work practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and staff
• Ability to work independently and manage caseloads efficiently
