Job Description
Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, safety‑obsessed aviation environment? As a Warehouse Agent, you will be essential to increase operational efficiency, company profitability, and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely receiving, storing, and handling inbound and outbound shipments.
Job Responsibilities- Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from trucks.
- Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions, and documents when accepting or delivering cargo.
- Issue appropriate warehouse receipt or collect a signed copy of delivery receipt.
- Ensure cargo has a proper release issued by office personnel before delivery to consignee or agent.
- Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets, and pallet jacks.
- Break down cargo from import flights, sort as required, check freight against manifest, and store in proper manner and location in warehouse.
- Build up cargo for export flights following instructions of supervisor or person directing the buildup.
- Keep inventory of on‑hand freight, warehouse supplies, airline equipment, and containers.
- Maintain security of the cargo and company equipment, report incidents to supervisor as needed.
- Maintain work area in a clean condition, reporting damaged or broken equipment as needed.
- Accept related assignments from lead agents, supervisors, or management.
- Complete paperwork and forms related to work assignments, entering data into the company information system as required.
- Follow company procedures and protocols to operate safely and responsibly.
- Complete all training required by company, airport governing authority, or customer.
- Be on time, prepared, and safe. Be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and others affected by their actions.
- Cooperate with manager/supervisor to comply with legal requirements imposed on the company.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse company provided equipment or resources.
- Inform manager/supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to manager/supervisor, who will then follow procedures contained in company and carrier Safety and Security procedures.
- Carry out work in accordance with information, training, and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.
- Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
- Attend training courses as required by AGI.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and move items 70 pounds (32 kg) or more regularly; lift items weighing 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces repeatedly.
- Walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Be alert to moving vehicles and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities.
- Work around machinery noises.
- Good communication skills: communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively with flight crew, gate agents, and other ground crew.
- Basic math skills: calculate piece count, weight, and dimensions.
- Computer skills: use systems to track cargo.
- Problem‑solving skills: troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading.
- Time‑management skills: manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- At least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- If work location is in the United States, have authorization to work in the United States. If location is in Canada, have authorization to work in Canada.
- Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
- If required by customer or role access, secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency.
- Preferred: one or more years of relevant experience.
