Street Lighting Operative

About The Role

We’re looking for a Street Lighting Maintenance Operative to join our Highways Street Lighting team on the HMC
26 contract in Warwickshire
. This is a hands‑on operational role, delivering essential street lighting maintenance across the county and supporting adjacent contracts in Coventry and Solihull when required.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring highway lighting assets are safe, reliable and well maintained, working to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Service Delivery
.

• Carrying out routine and cyclical street lighting maintenance
• Installing and replacing lighting columns, including excavation and ducting works
• Diagnosing faults with electrical equipment and completing effective repairs
• Responding to emergency call‑outs, including in and out of hours
• Making sites safe and completing temporary or permanent repairs
• Supporting winter maintenance operations as required
• Completing work instructions via handheld devices
• Organising and controlling materials to support efficient delivery
• Ensuring all works are completed right the first time and to required quality standards
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, subcontractors and the client
• Acting as a professional ambassador on site at all times

• Complying with all statutory, contractual and company health & safety requirements
• Reporting close calls, hazards and good practice
• Embedding safe systems of work into all activities
