We are seeking a Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Estimator to prepare accurate material and labor estimates for public, private, commercial, and industrial projects. The estimator will review drawings, specifications, and any correspondence to perform takeoffs, acquire quotes, and build the foundation for a successful project.
Responsibilities:- Review contract drawings and specifications
- Perform structural and miscellaneous steel takeoffs
- Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontractors
- Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Prepare bid from initial contact with customer to project award
- Coordinate project details and schedules with project managers
- Maintain organized estimating files and records
- Ability to read and interpret structural/miscellaneous drawings and specs
- Knowledge of steel fabrication and erection practices
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Good People Skills
- Some familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
- Familiarity with AISC standards
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Adobe and estimating software (e.g., Tekla, SDS, or similar)
