Long-Term Substitute Teacher Special Education

The Washington Township School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher to join our team at Port Colden School. This role is ideal for an educator who can seamlessly step into a specialized classroom, maintain a structured and supportive learning environment, and ensure continuity of services for students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver modified, differentiated instruction in alignment with student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment conducive to learning and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and the child study team to support student progress.
• Implement established behavioral plans and classroom routines consistently.
• Communicate effectively with school administration and parents regarding student updates when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certification required.
• NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSTD), Teacher of the Handicapped certification, or valid Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) preferred.
