Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing construction company. This role will partner closely with leadership to oversee accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support the company's continued growth.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the company's accounting and financial operations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the accuracy of financial records.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
  • Coordinate year-end audit activities and work with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Oversee general ledger activities and month-end close processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting and reporting matters.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to support company objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and GAAP.
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
