Location: Headquarters
As a Senior Accountant, the role will be responsible for the preparation of the income tax provision and preparing information to assist with federal, state and local income tax returns. The Accountant will also assist with income tax audits, tax research and oversee the process of tax, title and licensing of the company light duty truck fleet. Other responsibilities will include maintaining accruals for personal and real property taxes and managing the rendition and payment of personal property taxes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare or review work papers for corporate income taxes and franchise tax. Work closely with external preparers to efficiently complete all tax filings.
Maintain company records for the preparation of personal property tax renditions.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end tax provisions, related tax accounting entries and tax account reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of the effective tax rate.
Closely monitor tax law changes for opportunities to lessen tax liabilities and maintain compliance.
Research tax issues and provide appropriate recommendations.
Maintain company organizational chart, listing of directors and offices and related secretary of state filings.
Assist in income tax audits.
Assist in US international tax compliance and reporting form information.
Manage the payment of personal property taxes for the company and tax audits.
Manage the process of tax, title and licensing of light duty vehicles.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES Required:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Experience with One Source Income Tax Provision or other tax provision software
- 3 years of corporate tax experience in either public accounting or a large corporation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and interact effectively with other team members across the business
- Excellent Excel skills
