Job DescriptionPurpose: Provide secretarial support to the school site; establish and maintain records; compile and distribute materials and reports; respond to inquiries from internal and external sources.
This position reports to the Principal.
Essential Functions- Administer first aid and prescription medications to students under the direction of a health care professional.
- Attend department and in-service meetings to convey and gather information required to perform duties.
- Collect payments for various events (fines, fees, lunch, fundraisers, etc.) to complete transactions and secure funds.
- Compile data (work orders, budget reports, specialized reports, student records, etc.) to prepare reports or process requests.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials (forms, office supplies, etc.) to ensure availability.
- Maintain manual and electronic document files and records (student records, spreadsheets, timesheets, letters, etc.) in accordance with administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and other materials (letters, memorandums, minutes, charts, periodic and ad-hoc reports, etc.) to document activities and provide written reference.
- Process documents and materials (timesheets, work orders, etc.) to disseminate information in compliance with administrative guidelines.
- Research assigned topics (current practices, policies, education codes, etc.) to provide information for department operations.
- Respond appropriately to inquiries while maintaining confidentiality of student, family, and district records.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external parties (district staff, other schools, government agencies, general public, parents, students, etc.) to provide information, facilitate communication, and/or give direction.
- Schedule activities (appointments, meetings, facility usage, etc.) to make necessary arrangements for the administrator.
– Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Operates standard office equipment and relevant software applications; prepares and maintains documents.
- Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios); reads manuals, writes documents following prescribed formats, presents information, and analyzes situations.
- Business telephone etiquette and ability to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather, collate, and use data; operate job-related equipment.
- Flexibility to work with others in varying circumstances, using defined processes and methods.
- Problem solving to identify issues and select action plans; interpret data and use moderate equipment troubleshooting.
- Communicates with diverse groups, displays tact and courtesy, maintains confidentiality, sets priorities, attends to detail, works as part of a team, and handles frequent interruptions.
Work under limited supervision following standardized practices; provide information and advice; operate within a defined budget. Utilize resources from other work units as needed. Physical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job requires approximately 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing in a generally hazard-free environment.
Job-related experience required.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt.

Salary: $28.60 to $29.60 per hour
