Duties
- Coordinate updates and maintain a financial management database for the unit or detachment.
- Submit accurate outgoing funding document request forms to the division.
- Transcribe narratives, memoranda, messages, letters, and other correspondence and reports using a computer or conventional typewriter.
- Prepare travel requests and all associated actions and documentation, ensuring travelers receive correct and timely orders.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outbound mail, message traffic and correspondence.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level (time‑in‑grade).
- Retired military members appointed within 180 days after retirement are subject to 5 U.S.C. § 3326.
- Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must obtain and maintain a current, valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to duty; failure to maintain the clearance may result in withdrawal of the job offer.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously during the work shift.
- Position may require travel from the normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites; must be able to travel by military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS‑05 grade level (or pay band) in the Federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, utilizing office automation tools such as computer systems, software, and databases to provide clerical, administrative and technical work in support of budget analysis and administration. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute;
your typing skill response on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or a combination of both education and experience:
- Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position.
- A combination of experience and education, as described above, that equates to one year of experience.
