Schedule:

Monday‑Friday 0730 – 1600. Job type:
Non‑perm.

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the role of Non‑perm Administrative Assistant in health services for the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC), located outside the Tri‑Cities in Connell WA.

The Administrative Assistant 3 position supports the Health Services Manager 2 (HSM2) and the Health Services Department while performing varied administrative and secretarial support duties at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center. Work performed includes administrative responsibilities to include, but not limited to typing, filing, shredding, data entry, copying, inventory, managing confidential information, and supply ordering in support of the Department's mission to improve Public Safety by positively changing lives.

Coyote Ridge Corrections Center has a diverse population seeing different chronic diseases and taking care of those that need long‑term and palliative care.

  • Extended Observations unit up to 96 hr. stay (4 beds)
  • Long term palliative care unit
  • See up to 2500 patients with different chronic disease (diabetes, hypertension, cancer, autoimmune disorders and much more)

Correctional Health is a rewarding career path at DOC, in which health care professionals treat a wide array of cases for patients residing in a state correctional facility. Health Services is responsible for basic primary care for incarcerated individuals. All disciplines within all of the 12 correctional facilities work closely together to reach a common goal, providing the best, most efficient, and cost‑effective health care possible.

Emphasis is placed on early identification of health concerns, care for acute and chronic health problems, and preventive care.

Duties to include:
  • Provide secretarial support to supervisors; coordinate office operations; keep supervisor's calendar; make travel arrangements; screen, prioritize, and distribute mail. Transcribe and take minutes, screen calls and visitors.
  • Review forms sent to HSM2 for completeness and prepare executive level documentation for Health Services Management signature.
  • Schedule meetings and conference calls, draft correspondence letters, meeting agendas and report related items to the Health Services Department.
  • Log/track grievances for Health Services Management as needed.
  • Manage patient survey log.
Health Services Recruitment Support
  • Process recruitment documentation, tracking recruitments, forward completed packets to Human Resources, contact potential candidates, schedule interviews, complete reference checks, complete AARs for signature, ensure workflow process is completed promptly.
  • Notify the HSMs of any delay or bottleneck in the process. Take initiative in resolving issues and flow improvement.
  • Enter requisitions into NEOGOV.
  • Prepare and support Health Services Security Briefing.
  • Complete AARs for signature.
  • Attend local Human Resources Recruitment meetings and HQ Recruitment call.
  • Complete visitor processing.
Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.
  • OR Formal education will substitute year‑for‑year for experience.
Preferred/Desired

Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience in a Health related field.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.
