Klickitat County Civil Service will be testing for the position of Civil Clerk to work for the Klickitat County Sheriff. A written exam will be held on August 29, 2026 in Goldendale, Washington.
Under general supervision, the position contributes to the effective and timely administration of the system by assisting in coordinating the execution of civil processes in accordance with the Revised Code of Washington (RCW), other statutory requirements and the Sheriff's Office Department Rules, Regulations and Procedures. Responsible for administrative support, bookkeeping and coordinating civil paper services to contribute to complete, accurate and legal records maintenance and timely civil paper service.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques and related tools/equipment to accomplish the basic function of this position, including any safety and/or legal requirements. This may, but not necessarily, include specialized skills.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Law enforcement or paralegal related experience is preferred
- A minimum of two years of office work experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
As a condition of an employment, a candidate must have successful outcomes of a polygraph test, drug testing and completion of all examinations.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must not have been convicted of a crime that is punishable by imprisonment in a state or federal prison or institution.
Shall possess good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.
Must satisfactorily complete 12 months probation.
Must have a valid Driver's License.
