An automotive parts counter person acts as the vital link between an auto dealership or repair shop and the customers needing components. They are responsible for identifying, ordering, selling, and managing vehicle parts and accessories while ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help customers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
RequirementsPrevious experience as a Parts Counterperson or in a customer‑facing role within the automotive industry is highly preferred.
Proficiency in using dealership management systems (DMS, preferably CDK) and standard office software.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for explaining technical information clearly.
A valid driver's license.
