Responsible for administering Credit Bureau Agencies matters and procedures, concentrating on monitoring furnishing processes, analyzing and ensuring solutions of reporting issues. Tasks typically include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify, assess, and manage Popular’s Fair Credit Reporting Act reporting issues and conduct thorough analysis to determine and understand the root cause, the impact and severity.
  • Analyze and/or establish business units’ processes and systems to address the gaps that may lead to reporting errors.
  • Perform data retrieval from different databases or files to identify impacted populations and emerging trends. Analyze information retrieved from databases to strengthen root cause analysis.
  • Defining and document requires changes in Business processes, business rules, or system configurations to eliminate or reduce reporting errors.
  • Assess the impact of the proposed solutions on systems and business operations.
  • Prepare data visualizations, reports and documents to present results obtained.
  • Define in collaboration with Business and Supporting Units, the business requirements and perform system testing and certifications to ensure sustainable resolution.
  • Lead conversations on how to correct or solve, as appropriate, potential issues associated with QC efforts and/or second- or third-line monitoring and audit processes.
  • Track open issues and corrective action plans to ensure timely remediation.
  • Provide strategic advice on Credit Reporting Resource Guidelines (CRRG) and act as a liaison between Popular Businesses, Supporting Units and Credit Agencies, as well as Regulatory and Financial Compliance.
  • Collaborate with various business units to guarantee the creation, transmission, receipt, and processing of files with accounts for reporting (Metro 2 ®) to all Credit Reporting Agencies (CRA) as scheduled.
  • Analyze results obtained in error reports generated by credit agencies and address with the Business and Support Units correction action to be taken.
  • Develop, update, and distribute operational and management reports summarizing key trends and results of revisions.
  • Analyze dispute issues or topics escalated for investigation, provide guidance in response and identify whether the dispute being analyzed leads to a larger/systemic issue.
  • Establish and manage internal controls regarding the accuracy and integrity of information about consumers furnished to CRAs.
  • Maintain consistent open communication and develop strong relationships with business and supporting units.
  • Address any internal/external audit findings or recommendations until correction and implementation.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.

Experience

Three (3+) years of experience working in credit products or other related areas.

  • Strong business acumen: ability to understand the needs and concerns of business stakeholders and colleagues and respond promptly and effectively to stakeholder requests. An ability to conduct analysis of work procedures and business results and recommend changes to improve the effectiveness of the business' management.
  • Strong technical acumen: knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations. Knowledgeable of applicable laws and regulations (e.g. FDIC, CFPB, OCIF), and/or demonstrated capacity to gain an understanding of relevant details in regulatory framework that impacts the operation. Robust knowledge of applicable local and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Communication skills: effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to foster trusting relationships with colleagues and clients. Highly develop written and verbal communications skills in English. Presents numerical data effectively. Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent report‑writing and presentation skills. Polished in preparing presentations, executive summaries, and business reports in English for executive audiences.
