Procurement & Supply Specialist 2
We are seeking a Procurement and Supply Specialist 2 to join our warehousing team at Rainier School in Buckley, Washington. As a Procurement and Supply Specialist 2, you’ll be responsible for ordering goods and supplies for the facility’s commissary and maintenance warehouses. You will support the warehouse operations through ordering products, receiving orders, stocking, pulling orders, delivering, inventory counts, records management, and ensuring that deliveries are organized and distributed across campus.
This is a hands‑on, detail‑focused role that supports the daily needs of the people who live and work at the facility. This position is 100% onsite and may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
- Place orders for supplies and other goods according to department guidelines.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual inventory activities.
- Receive deliveries and coordinate distribution of items across the Rainier School campus.
- Track orders, invoices, and inventory records to ensure everything is accounted for.
- Communicate with vendors and staff to resolve any issues with orders or deliveries.
- Maintain accurate purchasing documentation in compliance with state procurement rules.
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and safely stocked.
- Plan, organize, and oversee annual fixed asset inventory.
- Provide excellent customer service to staff and residents.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Management, or a closely related field.
- An associate degree in Purchasing Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and two years of professional purchasing experience.
- Two years of experience as a Procurement & Supply Specialist 1.
- Four or more years of experience as a purchasing professional.
- Full‑time experience as a purchasing professional will substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Skills and abilities:
safe use of pallet jacks and other warehouse tools; accurate record filing; strong organization and communication skills; basic computer skills; physical stamina for receiving shipments and transporting goods; problem‑solving; familiarity with state procurement procedures.
- 5% pay premium for onsite work at least three days a week.
- Eligible for Orca Card for transportation needs.
- Background check, including criminal record history, may be conducted prior to hire.
- Employees driving on state business must have a valid driver’s license and, if using a private vehicle, liability insurance.
