Position: SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER with Security Clearance
Location: Bangor

Duties
* Advising the command and senior leadership on fire protection and related emergency response activities.
* You will train firefighters on shipboard, structural, confined space, and hazardous materials firefighting procedures.
* You will collaborate with fire fighter personnel to ensure emergency responses (e.g., fire suppression, injured victims, hazardous spill cleanup) are assigned.
* You will act as a liaison with other agencies to establish, modify, and oversee all mutual aid agreements dealing with emergency response capabilities.
* You will maintain awareness of changes in federal, state, or local fire service ordinances and laws to convey information to junior employees.
* You will oversee the Battalion Chiefs development of junior firefighters, employees annual goals, and objectives performance review Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- * You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* The employee is required to work Monday thru Friday with one shift 24 hours a week. Employee may be required to adjust work schedule which includes nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime and recall
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following
1) Experience in command and control during firefighting operations:
2) Leadership and mentorship of company officers and firefighters;
3) Development and implementation of policies;
4) Performance of supervisory duties to include recognition of employees as well as holding employee accountable;
5) Demonstrating sound risk management decision making and risk reduction practices. This experience must be supported in your resume to be considered for this position. Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II and Hazmat Incident Commander. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Pro Board to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached a copy of your transcript or certifications, you will be rated ineligible. Employee shall complete Marine Firefighter certification within one year.
