Public Relations & Marketing Specialist

Serves Tribal Council and Government in building and maintaining relationships with the general public and the media through numerous methods of communication.

Works to positively to enhance the image of the Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe through directing the development and maintenance of a monthly newsletter, webpage, social media platforms, photos, messaging, media and press releases, building and maintaining relationships with the general public and media on behalf of the Tribe through media platforms, website, and face to face interactions, as well as working closely with Council and Tribal Government to ensure consistent and unified statements and positions when necessary to the community and surrounding areas.

• Excellent command of the English language and solid editing, grammar and punctuation skills and must demonstrate a keen attention to detail.
• Expertise in social media management, digital marketing, and content creation strategies
• Experience with Flipbook, Photo shop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe In Design
• Must be available for Tribal events, meetings, and gatherings when requested to attend.
• Research is required as well as fact-checking
• Must be a team player who can also work independently to produce high volume and meet deadlines.
• High integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive and controversial issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Tribal members, leadership, staff, and external organizations.
