Job OverviewProvide learning experiences for dental program students while delivering high‑quality dental care to clinic patients. Utilize expertise in dental procedures and clinic operations to meet instructional and patient care standards. Assist and guide students and staff in performing dental procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform dental procedures for clinic patients consistent with industry, regulatory, and college standards.
- Provide traditional and expanded function learning experiences for students in a team environment with other college staff.
- Work with college staff to provide high‑quality, cost‑effective dental care to patients; identify comprehensive dental care needs, develop treatment plans, make referrals, maintain accurate records.
- Assist with student evaluation and patient education.
- Coordinate clinic operations and contribute to program goals and objectives.
- Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other related duties of similar scope and complexity.
- Graduation from an accredited school of dentistry.
- Current Washington State dental license.
- Ability to facilitate communication and interaction with instructional staff and students.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations applicable to dentistry.
- Ability to interact with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of the role and duties of dental assistants and hygienists.
- Effective verbal and written communication with people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs.
- Two years of clinical practice experience and/or dental teaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with a dental assistant using four‑handed dentistry techniques.
