Your responsibilities typically include:
- Performing routine dental cleanings to remove; plaque, tartar, and calculus
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth
- Taking digital x-rays
- Assessing patient’s oral health & identifying signs of disease
- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene
- Discussing treatment plans and preventative care with patients
- Assisting dentists during procedures if needed
- Documenting patient care and treatment plans accurately
- Ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized
- Maintaining patient records and medical histories
- Adhering to infection control and safety protocols
- Keeping up to date with dental regulations & industry best practices
