The Dentist plays a critical role in restoring and maintaining oral health for patients receiving inpatient behavioral health care. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment, this position provides both preventive and restorative dental services to individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs. KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental evaluations, preventive services, and treatment planning
- Provide general dental care, including routine and emergency treatment
- Conduct oral examinations and deliver restorative services, including:
- Fillings and restorations
- Endodontic procedures
- Non-surgical extractions of teeth and roots
- Prosthetics and periodontal treatment
- Prescribe and recommend medications as appropriate for dental treatment
- Provide clinical supervision and operational oversight of the dental clinic
- Refer patients to medical or dental specialists as clinically indicated
- Interpret and apply applicable federal regulations related to dental programs to ensure compliance
- Maintain accurate patient records and prepare reports evaluating patient progress
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams to support holistic patient care
- Doctorate degree from an accredited school of dentistry
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing dentistry
- Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Washington
- Experience working in inpatient, institutional, or behavioral health care settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Interest in collaborative, team-based care models
- Commitment to serving individuals with complex health or behavioral health needs
