Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the finance function at a Consulting firm in DC. This is an excellent opportunity for a smart, sharp, and motivated accounting professional who learns quickly, is comfortable with technology, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, high-performing team.

You will work directly with the Senior Accountant and play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations while gaining exposure to a consulting firm environment.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial reporting
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reporting
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation
• Ad hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-6 years of accounting experience (consulting or professional services a plus)
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Comfortable working with accounting systems and financial software
• Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
• Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
