Overview

The Accounting Specialist provides transactional and administrative support for financial operations, assisting with the execution and processing of routine accounting activities. This role supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel voucher processing, reconciliations, and other financial transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established financial procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in processing financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

  • Review and process travel vouchers and related reimbursement documentation.

  • Support account reconciliations and resolve routine discrepancies.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

  • Enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain transaction logs.

  • Provide administrative and transactional support to Finance/Accounting Specialists and Budget Analysts.

  • Assist in tracking expenditures and verifying supporting documentation.

  • Respond to routine financial inquiries from internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial procedures and documentation standards.

  • Support periodic reporting and audit preparation activities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Zero (0) to five (5) years of experience in accounting support, financial processing, or related administrative functions.

  • Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes.

  • Experience entering data into accounting or financial systems preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to follow established financial procedures and guidelines.

  • Basic proficiency in spreadsheet and office software applications.

  • Ability to manage routine financial tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
