The Finance/Accounting Specialist II provides mid-level professional accounting support through preparation and analysis of accounting documentation, financial schedules, and reporting exhibits. This role verifies compliance with accounting standards, analyzes financial trends, and supports development of both standard and nonstandard financial reports. The position operates under general supervision and applies sound accounting principles to ensure financial integrity and reporting accuracy.

• Prepare accounting papers, schedules, summaries, and financial exhibits.

• Examine accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations and proper application of accounting standards and procedures.

• Ensure uniform application of policies, procedures, and accepted accounting principles.

• Develop nonstandard reports and financial statements as required.

• Analyze financial trends and identify deviations from established standards.

• Reconcile financial data and investigate discrepancies.

• Support preparation of internal and external financial reports.

• Assist with audit preparation and compliance reviews.

• Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

• Collaborate with program and financial staff to ensure proper documentation and reporting.

• Approximately two (2) to four (4) years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.

• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and financial standards.

• Experience preparing financial schedules and analytical reports.

• Ability to analyze trends and identify deviations from standards.

• Proficiency in accounting systems and spreadsheet tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently under general supervision.

Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required;
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
