About the Company and Opportunity:

• Our client is a health focused nonprofit organization in DC who has been around for 150 years!
• Due to a vacancy our client is looking to bring on a temporary Grant Accountant.
• This position is in-office.
• Duration: contract-to-hire, depending on performance, fit, and needs of the business.
• Schedule is Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. 35 hour work week. 1 hour lunch.
• Pay: $31-33/hr ~ perm salary $65,000-$70,000 annually.

Overview of the Grant Accountant role:

• Grant Financial Management
  • Oversee grant revenues and expenditures over several programs
  • Compliance for federal, state, and private grants
  • Monitor spending and budgets
  • Prepare grant continuation documentation
  • Grant applications
• Reporting
• Accounts Reconciliations
  • Reconcile grant accounts and ensure proper allocation of expenses
  • Record all grant-related transactions into the GL

Preferred Qualifications for the Grant Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• 3-5 years of grant accounting experience
• Intermediate Excel – Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Knowledge of iMIS and Great Plains is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication
