Job Summary
Under general direction, the Accounting Coordinator will perform a broad range of accounting functions with responsibility for maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records in a branch office or organizational department. This role requires a detail‑oriented individual with strong analytical skills to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The Accounting Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by managing transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with special projects.
Responsibilities- Assigns transaction codes to documents.
- Classifies, examines, and analyzes accounting records and prepares related financial reports and statements.
- Performs special projects as assigned; completes more routine and established projects and analyses for a specific accounting or finance area.
- Works under supervision of management or more senior staff.
- Ensures documents being processed are included in the appropriate accounting period.
- Collaborates with other departments, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of financial processes.
- Posts, balances, and closes subsidiary ledgers.
- May follow up on delinquent accounts receivable customers.
- Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness, and arithmetic accuracy of account documents and makes adjustments.
- High school diploma and 2 years related experience or Bachelor's degree required.
- Must understand bookkeeping/accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a plus.
We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
