We’re seeking a detail‑driven Accounting Clerk to support JRC’s Finance team in a DoD government contracting environment
, with a focus on invoicing, cost accounting, and timekeeping compliance
. You’ll help ensure accurate billing across cost‑plus, T&M, and firm‑fixed‑price contracts
, maintain audit‑ready records, and keep our financial operations aligned with FAR/CAS requirements
.
In this role, you’ll prepare invoices and cost reports, review timesheets and expenses in Unanet
, and partner closely with finance leadership and project teams to keep deliverables on track. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a compliance‑driven environment, enjoys working with structured processes, and takes pride in supporting mission‑critical DoD programs.
- Prepare monthly invoices for cost‑reimbursable, T&M, and fixed‑price contracts.
- Compile and validate costs incurred, including labor, ODCs, travel, and subcontractor charges.
- Review and approve timesheets in accordance with DCAA timekeeping standards and JRC policy.
- Maintain flex‑time balances, overtime records, and labor rate accuracy.
- Review expense reports for compliance with JTR and company requirements.
- Generate cost reports and support internal/external audit requests.
- Assist with month‑end close activities and special finance projects.
- An associate degree in accounting, business, or a related field—or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a DoD or federal contracting environment.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with cost data, labor reports, and billing workflows.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization/prioritization, and follow‑through.
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems used in Gov Con environments.
- A collaborative, mission‑focused mindset.
- Experience with Unanet, ADP, or Fidelity.
- Familiarity with FAR/CAS, DCAA audits, indirect rate structures, or government cost accounting.
- Prior experience supporting DoD, DHS, or other federal programs.
