Senior Accountant, Student Financials

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant, Student Financials in Washington, DC. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records through general ledger accounting, month‑end close activities, reconciliations, and financial analysis. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while partnering with cross‑functional teams.

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and organizational policies.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to self‑review work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
