Senior Accountant

Description

My client is a company within the real estate industry looking for a Senior Accountant to fill the role in their Washington, DC office. The ideal Senior Accountant for this role will be responsible for assisting the accounting team with the day-to-day operations and ensuring the financial statements are reported accurately. The responsibilities for the Senior Accountant will include preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, assisting with invoicing, posting various journal entries, reconciling the balance sheet accounts, accounting for WIP, fixed assets and other depreciable assets, along with collaborating with the team to achieve goals.

Daily responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:

· Prepare financial statements.

· Assist with month-end close process.

· Reconcile various balance sheet accounts.

· Post journal entries.

· Assist with other ad hoc duties.

Requirements

The ideal Senior Accountant we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:

· 3+ years of real estate or public accounting experience.

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

· CPA or pursuing CPA licensure, a plus.

· Strong communication skills
