  • Prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Monitor grant expenditures, reconcile restricted funding, and ensure compliance with grant agreements and donor restrictions.
  • Assist with grant reporting, indirect cost allocations, and budget‑to‑actual analysis.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Support annual audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Partner with program managers and leadership to provide financial insights and support budgeting efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month‑end close, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with grant accounting and fund accounting is highly preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA is a plus.
  • Experience with nonprofit ERP/accounting systems (such as Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge, MIP Fund Accounting, or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze financial data.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected organization making a meaningful impact while contributing your accounting expertise to a collaborative finance team.
