Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support the finance team on a Long-term Contract basis. This interim opportunity is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, manage core accounting activities, and maintain accurate financial records during a leave coverage period. The role requires strong Sage Intacct expertise and a hands-on approach to month-end processes, reconciliations, and audit readiness.

Responsibilities:

- Manage daily and monthly accounting activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger.

- Perform bank and account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

- Process and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable to support accurate cash flow and vendor/customer records.

- Prepare accruals and journal entries as part of the month-end close process and maintain supporting documentation.

- Allocate grant-related financial activity in accordance with applicable guidelines and internal reporting needs.

- Assist with audit preparation by organizing schedules, reconciliations, and requested financial documentation.

- Utilize Sage Intacct to maintain accounting records, generate reports, and support efficient financial operations. Requirements - Demonstrated experience as a Senior Accountant or in a closely related accounting role.

- Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

- Proven ability to prepare journal entries and complete detailed account reconciliations.

- Hands-on experience performing bank reconciliations and resolving variances.

- Proficiency with Sage Intacct is required.

- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accrual-based accounting.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
