Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

We are performing a search for a Controller with 8 plus years of experience for a small but fast growing technology company in Downtown Washington DC. This is an on-site work environment but right next to a metro stop. This individual will be responsible for setting up and growing the accounting department. Public accounting experience is a big plus. Strong system skills required.

Salary around 170k plus bonus.

• Oversee the organization’s general ledger, reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparing accurate and timely financial statements.
• Lead initiatives to enhance and streamline accounting processes, particularly focusing on improving reconciliations and optimizing the month-end close cycle.
• Manage the revenue process, including oversight of AR and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are completed accurately for both internal and external reporting.
• Draft technical memos on complex accounting issues and assist in implementing solutions that align with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost-saving efficiencies.
