D.C, is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated experienced Staff Accountant-Accounts Receivable to join our Finance department. The primary responsibilities of this position works closely with the Sales department and other departments throughout the company to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately reflected in the financial reports
Essential Responsibilities:
Generate and distribute accurate client invoices and statements; manage recurring billing schedules and adjust revenue cut-offs during financial closing. Record and apply daily incoming payments to the correct customer accounts Perform weekly payment reconciliation, ensure payments (Pre and Post payments) for sales orders in open batches are received, reconciled and closed weekly. Keep a record of reconciliation files for audit purposes.
Review and update, as needed, accounts information in billing system. Monitor aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, and assist in evaluating customer credit limits. Reconcile the AR ledger, prepare journal entries, and analyze collection metrics for management. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between client payments and invoices. Perform month-end closing tasks related to incoming revenue. Assist with year-end audits Assist in financial management and analysis as requested.
Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be a dependable, collaborative accounting professional who takes ownership of their work, maintains a high level of accuracy, and understands the importance of timely collections and accurate financial reporting. This position requires the ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines are necessary.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of accounting and accounts receivable experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage financial transactions accurately while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
