Accounts Payable Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to support a Contract engagement in Washington, District of Columbia. This role will focus on stabilizing day-to-day AP operations, resolving payment and supplier issues, and strengthening team effectiveness in a Tipalti environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on knowledge of accounts payable processes and can quickly identify, troubleshoot, and correct workflow disruptions while partnering with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities:

- Provide hands-on support for accounts payable activities, ensuring invoices, payments, and supplier records are processed accurately and on time.

- Investigate and resolve invoice routing problems, approval path discrepancies, and payment exceptions within Tipalti.

- Review and correct duplicate vendor profiles to improve data accuracy and reduce processing issues.

- Troubleshoot supplier payment concerns, including ACH and check-related items, and coordinate follow-through to completion.

- Assist with invoice coding and validate transaction details to maintain compliance with internal accounting standards.

- Support post-go-live issue resolution related to the Tipalti accounts payable setup, including synchronization failures and workflow interruptions.

- Guide users on system functionality and AP procedures to address knowledge gaps and improve adoption.

- Monitor recurring issue patterns, recommend process improvements, and help strengthen overall AP efficiency. Requirements

- Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Tipalti, including troubleshooting workflows, supplier records, and payment processing issues.

- Practical knowledge of invoice coding, invoice review, and end-to-end payment execution.

- Experience handling ACH transactions, check runs, and supplier payment inquiries.

- Ability to identify process breakdowns, investigate root causes, and implement effective resolutions.

- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, controls, and timely execution.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to support end users and work across accounting and operational teams.
