Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team on a Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day accounting operations and requires someone who can manage core financial activities with accuracy and strong attention to detail. The role offers a permanent schedule of 40 hours per week and will contribute across billing, payables, receivables, and account balancing functions.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and issue customer invoices while monitoring outstanding balances and supporting timely payment collection.

- Manage accounts receivable activities, including posting payments, tracking aging, and following up on overdue accounts.

- Process accounts payable transactions by reviewing invoices, coding expenses, and coordinating accurate vendor payments.

- Complete account reconciliations to ensure financial records are aligned and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

- Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy in support of monthly accounting activities.

- Use Sage Intacct to enter, review, and organize accounting data and transaction records.

- Assist with broader accounting tasks as needed to support ongoing operational demands.

- Contribute to selected contracting and expansion-related accounting activities when assigned. Requirements - Experience performing journal entries and maintaining general ledger records.

- Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and cash collections.

- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, invoice processing, and payment support.

- Ability to perform reconciliations accurately and investigate variances.

- Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a 40-hour workweek.

- Prior experience in a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant capacity is preferred.
